Thoughts about the number of older people who believe in the conspiracy theories:
Lead was not totally banned from use in gas for cars until 1996. So older people have had their brains damaged by it more than younger people. And they have been exposed to various brain-damaging pollutants longer than younger people.
And older people can have their thinking damaged by dementia before it becomes apparent.
