Del Monte Foods on Dec. 11 said it is recalling a type of its canned corn sold in Georgia and 24 other states because of the risk of contamination. The company said that 64,242 cases of fiesta corn seasoned with red and green peppers are subject to recall. Changes in the commercial sterilization process could result in contamination and life-threatening illness if the product is consumed.
To date there have been no reports of illness associated with the recalled shipments of canned corn, Del Monte Foods said in a news release. No other production codes or products are affected by this recall.
