JPMorgan Chase Buys NYPD For $4.6 Million

As some have commented, there have been individual police who have told protestors they agree with them. There is a difference between the police department and individual police. Some are good, some are bad.

New York City Police Foundation — New York

JPMorgan Chase recently donated an unprecedented $4.6 million to the New York City Police Foundation. The gift was the largest in the history of the foundation and will enable the New York City Police Department to strengthen security in the Big Apple. The money will pay for 1,000 new patrol car laptops, as well as security monitoring software in the NYPD’s main data center.

If JPMorgan Chase had made this donation last year, it may not have been a blip on the radar. But this donation conveniently coincides with the Occupy Wall Street protests. The NYPD has drawn fire for their brutality against the peaceful protesters which has included slamming people to the ground, pepper spraying women and reporters, arresting children, and entrapping protesters on the Brooklyn Bridge after allowing them to march there in the first place. One can’t help but wonder if JPMorgan just purchased their own private police force. It’s clear that the NYPD is more motivated to defend the big bankers and CEOs who collapsed the economy and stole billions of dollars from the American people.
