Shades of Kafka

Listening to the news on NPR today, I felt like I was listening to a story by Kafka.

They reported on the horrible flooding of the Mississippi, which is assuredly made worse by global warming. Warm air holds more moisture. Eventually it comes in contact with cooler air, resulting in more rain or snow.

Immediately following, there was a report on President Obama's plans to encourage more oil exploration in the U.S., because of increased gas prices.
And of course, Republicans want even more oil production.
