If you believe God interferes in the affairs of humans, obviously God must have wanted President Obama to nominate Scalia's replacement, or he would have kept Scalia alive longer.
It looks like God chose for Scalia to die now as punishment and/or a warning to others because of the Republican members blocking President Obama's clean power plan to protect the environment we are all a part of.
(I stopped capitalizing "supreme court" after the Republicans on the court stole the election from Al Gore.)

In President Reagan's last year in office, he nominated Anthony Kennedy to the supreme court, and the Democratic Senate confirmed him.
