Independence

If you choose your actions and opinions because they are in opposition to someone else, even if it hurts you, you are not being independent. You are as dependent on other's opinions as those who choose an opinion solely because other people have it.

And you are operating at the level of at best a 13-year old, or maybe even a 2-year old.
