I got the following Facebook messages, from the group :
Boycott Supporters of Mountaintop Removal
If the Black-Eyed Peas do boycott this event and are sued for breach of contract, I am willing to donate to their legal fees.

Dear friends,
Jim Justice, the owner of the Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV made all his money in the mountaintop removal business. When he stopped running his MTR company, Bluestone Coal, to takeover the Greenbrier, he sold it for billions to the Russian corporation Mechel, which has continued to blow up Appalachia and poison its land and residents.
Last year, Justice began hosting a PGA event at the Greenbrier to bring attention and prestige to his resort. At this year's event he is featuring concerts by the Black Eyed Peas, Miranda Lambert, and Tim McGraw.
Because the Black Eyed Peas seem like compassionate people, we are trying hard to get them to back out of the performance. While they may be sued for breach of contract, by refusing to play for Justice they would raise tremendous awareness about the crime of MTR. Also, the Black Eyed Peas have the opportunity to bring Justice's business deals to the attention of other artists who might avoid the Greenbrier in the future.
Right now, noone has a contact to the band, so folks from Appalachia cannot contact them personally. What we are doing instead is posting on their facebook, myspace, and other fan pages, pleading with them to abstain.
Please take a second to help out. Here is the facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/blackeyedpeas?sk=wall&filter=1
*******When you contact them, please make it clear that you are sure that they were not aware about Justice. Not many people are.
Why do we think the Black Eyed Peas will show leadership in this situation? These lyrics to one of their most popular songs, "Where is the Love?," are one indication:
"people killin' people dyin, children hurt ain't even cryin'"
"chemical gases filling lungs of little ones"
"most of us only care about money makin', selfishness got us followin' the wrong direction"
what ever happened to the values of humanity, what ever happened to fairness and equality?"

Jim Justice, owner of the Greenbrier, is still in the mountaintop removal business. Recently, he bought a strip mining ompany and mineral rights on steep slopes in Tennessee.
So, please ask the Black Eyed Peas to cancel their performance for Justice and ALSO add the Greenbrier Resort to your boycott list. Perhaps we can talk to the PGA and or the sponsors of the upcoming PGA event at the Greenbrier.
Any help at all will be appreciated.
