What is a hero

There is a small germ of truth in Trumps remark about McCain. Getting captured didn't make McCain a hero. But putting himself in danger for the sake of his country did make him a hero. The word "hero" is debased, and becomes useless for its real meaning, when we use it to mean "victim". Of course, I can only say this because I'm not a politician and I'm retired, so it won't matter much if part of my comment out of context by some jerky piranha.
