Begging for Change

This is a personal issue for me. I have not had health insurance since 1990, except for about 10 years ago, when I had it for a little over a year.
When I was working for Waffle House between IT jobs, I got a lump which could have been cancer. I went to the public health department, and they sent me to a private, sliding cost clinic in another city. The first visit cost $30. I couldn't afford it. Fortunately, my church donated some money to me, and also fortunately, it apparently was caused by infection that caused no other symptoms and went away on its own.
