Dickeylee says...
Toyota workers make MORE than UAW workers

Latest UAW contract now is a two-tier system, with older assembly line workers making $26/hr and new hires making $14/hr. That's why we read about the "buyouts" where the automakers pay the older workers $100K lump sums to go ahead and retire early, to make room for the new $14/hr worker. Newer workers also have fewer benefits.
The new Kia plant that has opened in Alabama is hiring workers in at $12/hr with no pension and no company match for the 401(k) for the first 5 years of employment. At those wages, even a new double-wide is out of reach.
