Why aren't some people being charged with manslaughter, at least, more like third degree murder, since it occurred over years, after knowing that people were dying because of it's actions? A man in Florida is facing the death penalty for killing two people when robbing restaurants. Our society thinks it's ok for the rich to kill people for the sake of getting richer, but not if you are poor and hungry.

The U.S. Transportation Department announced Friday it is fining General Motors (GM) $35 million for safety issues stemming from its delayed recalls of 2.6 million cars due to faulty ignition switches.

GM has acknowledged knowing about the problem for at least a decade but didn't recall the cars until earlier this year. The company says at least 13 people have died in crashes linked to the problem.

Jeb Stuart Magruder, who was imprisoned for his role in the Watergate scandal, died May 11 in Danbury, Conn., after complications from a stroke. Magruder was 79.

he became involved in carrying out the June 1972 break-in of the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office complex to bug the DNC chairman's phone - the event that led to the uncovering of the Watergate scandal and Nixon's eventual resignation.
Magruder, who worked with G. Gordon Liddy and John Dean to carry out the break-in plan, was charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice in the ensuing coverup and served seven months in prison - one of 25 people who ended up jailed following the scandal.
