Petition to defend Medicare and Social Security

If you want to sign a petition to Republican members of Congress to not gut Social Security and Medicare, you can go here.

The msg is:

At this moment, Speaker Boehner is crafting a deficit deal that would gut Medicare and Social Security, while slashing benefits for seniors and the middle class in order to make sure he protects tax breaks for millionaires.

This is unacceptable and House Democrats will not stand for this.

We need to show our strength on this issue with one, unified voice -- and time is critical.

Sign our petition right now and join House Democrats in declaring that Social Security and Medicare cuts are off the table.

They're ok with putting people out of their homes, taking away invaluable assistance, because they are not directly affecetd. Would they do this to their mother, their father, their sisters and brothers? Would they look someone in the eyes and tell them this? What about reducing their income as well? That wouldn't happen.
