Refusal to change leads to instability

Something that is really ironic is that conservatives like stability, but vote for politicians and policies that will end up causing extreme instability, eg. environmental degradation. Sometimes refusing to change results in large, undesirable changes.

This is evident in many spheres, including the personal; eg., driving away a loved one.
