WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- House Democrats saw two major announcements of support for their health-care bill on Thursday, with the AARP and the American Medical Association putting their weight behind the bill two days before an expected vote on it.
AARP is the world's largest senior lobby, and the AMA is the nation's largest doctors' group. The AARP's support of the pending health-care bill marks the first time the lobby has put its weight behind a comprehensive health-care overhaul bill.
